What is PBL?
The Precision Biosystems Laboratory is a lab at Georgia Tech, under the direction of Craig Forest.
The lab does many things, however I focused on high-throughput robotic instrumentation for Patch-clamping, a ridicoulously difficult but useful technique.
What did I do?
At PBL, I helped Alexandra Dunnum VandeLoo with her research on teaching patch clamping (she does many many many things, and is one of the best, most dedicated, fun people I know. Incredible researcher). We published a paper together in Springer: An Interactive Patch Clamping Simulation to Teach and Train Electrophysiology.
Most of my time was spent with Benjamin Magondu, who is also “goated”. Together, we worked on a Holypipette fork, to help him conduct his experiments and review data, as well as provide a standard for other patch clamps. (of course there is more but I can’t talk about it)
