Merely half a century ago, regular civilian flight between Earth and its colonies in the system would have seemed impossible. Now it was made almost trivial by the Enterprise and her sister ships.
What a dream. This is the direction forward. Even if we never figure out how to build such ships, build colonies in space, etc. we will learn so much along the way, that whatever technology we come up with will be no different from magic in 2024 terms.
Yes, it is one of Clarke’s three laws.
Sign me up. I want to build spaceships, fly them, and tell my children about it. I hope I get to tell them how we, how humanity, created a world of abundance, out of curiosity for some, need for others, and as a challenge for all.
